Our Mission
Connecting Children with Families and Keeping Families Connected
Jesus Christ set forth the example of a good shepherd, one who watches over, cares for and guides those in need. It is the work of Good Shepherd Children & Family Services to keep the children in our care safe, to help them heal, to provide them the skills for self care and connect them with those who will provide support throughout their lives.

Get Involved
Over the past few months several generous groups and organizations have
made a real difference in the lives of the foster youth of Good
Shepherd. All the creative ways they help could make for a great
reality show series!
Some take on a real hands-on approach, like the Altrusa Club of St.
Louis whose membership of professional women put together Back-to-School
Backpacks filled with school supplies for each young person in
community or residential foster care. Others use their voices to raise
funds for Good Shepherd teens, like the women’s auxiliary of the Knights
of St. Peter Claver known as the Ladies of Grace. They staged a
concert featuring local gospel music talent called Gospel-tality as
their way of getting involved. Every Year the May Family holds a family
reunion horseshoe-throwing tournament at their family called the May
Cup and this year the proceeds were given to Good Shepherd. The
Thessalonian Mission Baptist Church held a roller skating outreach event
and hosted Good Shepherd foster youth to Skate for the Kingdom.

Think you can’t benefit by tax credits or that it’s too complicated? Think again! Click here to learn more.
You may think that claiming your charitable donations on your tax returns is good enough. It is. Good enough. Tax credits are even better because they give you an added 50% in addition to your typical charitable deduction!
Good Shepherd offers charitable tax credits made available by the State of Missouri. Tax credits are a triple-win benefit! They encourage your philanthropic support of the Good Shepherd mission to assist foster youth. They help Missouri develop and maintain good healthy communities. And, they reward you for your generosity.

stuck in the classroom! Click the Recess 2012 tab to register or
to be a sponsor or both!

Central to a quality residential program is the involvement of many caring adults who are willing to share their gifts and interests with the youth in care. These experiences expose our residents to new creative outlets, career options and healthy lifestyle choices. Even more importantly, the active participation of volunteers lets our residents know that there are people in the world who care about them.
