In 2006, the Boards of Directors of four agencies operating under the auspices of Catholic Charities voted to merge with the intention of forming a more efficient system for deliveringmuch-needed services to children and families in St. Louis and surrounding areas. The newly merged entity was originally incorporated as Catholic Services for Children & Youth and in July 2007, with the approval of Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, the name was changed to Good Shepherd Children & Family Services.
