In 2006, the Boards of Directors of four agencies operating under the auspices of Catholic Charities voted to merge with the intention of forming a more efficient system for deliveringmuch-needed services to children and families in St. Louis and surrounding areas.

The newly merged entity was originally incorporated as Catholic Services for Children & Youth and in July 2007, with the approval of Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, the name was changed to Good Shepherd Children & Family Services.

The original four agencies - Catholic Services for Children & Youth , Fr. Dunne’s Newsboys Home , St Joseph’s Home & Family Services and Marian Hall /Villa Maria - had a rich history of providing quality services that dates back to 1834 and continues today.

Good Shepherd Children & Family Services is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization licensed by the Missouri Department of Social Services, Children’s Division and accredited by the Council on Accreditation.
