Good Shepherd’s Racial Equity Council will come together this week along with all interested employees to discuss the tragic death of George Floyd, as well as its aftermath not merely in Minneapolis, but in our own community and across the nation.  These events are haunting reminders of such painful wounds here and so much work left unfinished.  It will take time and a symphony of voices to determine how we should respond to these issues, but as an agency committed to racial equity, silence is not an option. I hope you’ll listen as we use this space to amplify diverse opinions.

In the meantime, please be assured that our team is continuing to serve babies, mothers, and families without interruption, always dedicated to our mission.

It is Sunday morning. My only message is to urge you to pause and reflect—to seek a wider view. This is a perfect moment for us to care for one another extravagantly, look for peace within, and share God’s great love with all we meet and at every opportunity.
