Qualifications: Bachelor’ s degree in Social Work or related field. Two years’ experience in community based child welfare service or an advanced degree in a social service field. Thorough understanding of issues relate to parenting and child development. Knowledge of community resources. An understanding of family systems, the impact of abuse and neglect; substance abuse; mental illness; poverty; grief and loss; and trauma on children and their families.
Job Description: Part time position 25 to 30 hours per week. The Parent coach provides parenting support, education and case management to families with young children at risk of child abuse and neglect. Provide service to caseload of no more than 15. Parenting education using the Nurturing Skills curriculum is delivered within individual sessions using a home visiting approach. This position provides all services in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Pay Range: Salary is competitive based on experience
