Maternity shelter and transitional living
Good Shepherd’s Maternity Care provides shelter, support, and treatment for pregnant and/or parenting teens and their children who have nowhere to go.
The program serves young women ages 12–21 referred from the Missouri Department of Social Services, as well as young women in the St. Louis area who are pregnant and/or parenting and homeless.
Shelter support can include
A facility with parenting suites, maternity rooms, bathrooms, lounge, laundry, and dining areas.
Supervision and support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a safe, consistent routine and scheduled activities.
Coaching in child development, bonding and attachment, pregnancy and postpartum health, and evidence-based parenting techniques.
Support to accomplish academic and vocational success, secure daycare, and transition toward independence.
Licensed counselors, individualized treatment plans, individual therapy, and group therapy.
Assistance securing clothing, baby items, daycare, and supportive family connections when appropriate.
