Your gift of time, talent or treasure helps Good Shepherd’s resources go further!  Good Shepherd depends upon the charity of members in the community who offer a bit of their mind, body and spirit for our mission.

A Few Ideas

Event Volunteering

We love having volunteers help us during our events! Duties range from setting up, event marketing, staffing stations during events, clean up, and other tasks. The months of February, April, May, June, and November/December are when we are most in need of event volunteers. Volunteering for events is a great way to get groups and families involved! Please visit our events page to view upcoming events and related volunteer opportunities.

Donation Sorting

We are always in need of volunteers to help us sort donations and help us get items to our clients faster! These office-based projects are great for students, office groups, and families. We welcome volunteers of any age, though volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or teacher. These opportunities can be one-time or on an ongoing basis for service hours. Please fill out the form below.

Working with Clients

For volunteers over the age of 21 interested in working with clients, we have opportunities for babysitting, mentoring, and tutoring. All volunteers must have completed the Protecting God’s Children workshop (schedule here) and consent to a background check. Volunteers working with clients must commit to a 6 month volunteering term before being put on the schedule to volunteer with clients. To learn more and sign up, please fill out the form below.

Collect to Connect

Due to the scope and confidential nature of our work, our volunteer opportunities in directly serving our clients are limited, but please don’t hesitate to contact us with your thoughts and ideas.

Younger than 21 but still want to help?  Check out our Collect to Connect opportunities.  It’s a great way to connect with the challenges our foster youth, teen moms and their babies, expectant parents facing a crisis pregnancy, and adoptive parents struggle with every day. Our Collect to Connect program helps school groups, churches, and organizations connect with our clients by providing them the items they need every day.

Step 1 of 4

  • Volunteers working with clients must be at least 21 years of age. We welcome volunteers of all ages for most other volunteer opportunities, but children under age 14 must be supervised by parent, guardian, or teacher.
