Monday morning quick hits:

  • After a worrisome period of low census in Maternity, it looks like we will have 12 moms in house by the end of the today.  Be careful what you wish for—we’re bursting at the seams, and the sounds of little voices are once again filling the halls.

  • We had our first “fidelity audit” from the County.  We received a great many compliments about our documentation, the richness of our services, the dedication and expertise of our staff, and our outcomes.  We received some not unexpected critical feedback about shoring up or changing practice in a few areas, but the feedback was fair and positive over all.

  • Last month, one of our Maternity moms and her daughter transitioned into their own apartment, and as you may recall, our staff gathered a pile of house warming gifts to get them started.  It looks like that mom and her lovely daughter will be featured in an upcoming article in the St. Louis Review.  I will keep you posted as I know more.

  • Missouri budget talks are still underway.  There may be a glimmer of hope that the hard line taken by the Senate is softening.  Please pray that this is so.  If not, I will be headed to Jeff City on Wednesday to bend as many ears as I can.

I continue to feel blessed to do this work and to have such a wonderful team of colleagues and supporters.  God bless each of you!
