Adoption Awareness Day

Purpose

Did you know that Good Shepherd Children & Family Services has been connecting children with families for over 150 years in St. Louis? Our legacy agencies, including Catholic Services for Children & Youth, have helped to grow families through adoption in St. Louis and have left a lasting impact on our community.

However, adoptions aren’t like they have been in “the old days”. Today, adoption looks much different for birth families, babies, and adoptive families. Whereas many adoptions in the past were closed, meaning there was no contact between birth families and adoptive families, today, the majority of adoptions in the United States are open. We believe that adoption is a brave, loving, and selfless decision that birth mothers and fathers make for their children.

Good Shepherd Children & Family Services is hosting our first annual “Adoption Awareness Day”, with the intention of raising awareness about adoption in St. Louis.
