June 1, 2015

This is not one of my most gripping Mission Mondays, but I wanted to provide an update on two very important projects, namely our website/communications efforts and our chapel.

With regard to the former, we have engaged a local vendor, Brevity, to overhaul our website.  Brevity has done some really great work with St. Francis Community Services, and they have some very exciting ideas about creating a new website for Good Shepherd.  The designers at Brevity write their own code, and they’re clearly passionate about what they do.  I am confident we will get an excellent product.  Work will begin in mid-June with an expected full launch in the fall.  On a related note, the job description for our new Communications Coordinator was approved by Catholic Charities and forwarded to the Archdiocese for a final okay.  The process has been slow, but once approval is received, we can post the position and begin interviewing candidates.

As for the chapel, the work on the windows has begun in earnest.  Jack and I will be getting a sneak peek at the progress later this month.  In addition, we should have a bid on our altar and ambo, as well as some additional furnishings very soon.  We are still on schedule for a fall 2015 completion, with a formal dedication to follow.

Hope the summer is treating you well. God bless,

Michael
