It’s the season for graduations.  I imagine nearly all of us have been (or will soon be) part of a graduation celebration this year (for a son, daughter, grandchild, niece, nephew, friend of the family, etc.).  We had some graduates of our own at Good Shepherd recently—two in Foster Care, and one in Maternity (a recently discharged, long term resident).  Given the obstacles they had to face on the way to that special day, I am very proud of them. We know that it is education (or a lack thereof) that opens or closes the most doors for our kids moving forward, which is why education is so strongly emphasized in our Foster Care and Maternity Programming.
