Parenting Specialists

Good Shepherd Children & Family Services provides the highest quality foster care and treatment foster care, adoption, expectant parent counseling, maternity shelter, pregnancy services and advocacy.

Primary duties include:
Full-time and part-time parenting specialists are needed for the Residential Maternity Program for weekends and evenings. These positions are responsible for the client’s day to day care. The interaction between parenting specialists and clients require the use of respectful, collaborative, strength-based interventions with the responsibility to maintain the safety of youth through continuous supervision. In supporting and promoting these relationships, it is expected that each parenting specialist will demonstrate a high standard of professional and ethical behavior that coincides with the philosophy, mission and values of the agency.

Qualifications for positions:
The Parenting Specialists will be expected to have previous experience working with child development needs, be able to maintain good judgment with minimal supervision, and provide creative and engaging activities for the clients. General requirements include minimal age of 21, and Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of experience in a related field.
